When thinking about debt relief keep in mind that there are many ways to achieve debt relief that comes short of bankruptcy. Often people think of bankruptcy and only bankruptcy to get rid of their debt, but it is not as easy to file as many people think. First you must qualify for a bankruptcy before you can file. Many people make too much money to file, and those that do qualify are not always aware of how many debts cannot be discharged by a bankruptcy. Debts such a child support, taxes, and student loans cannot be bankrupted. So before you think about bankruptcy, first look at the other options. There are debt consolation loans that are possible as well s debt settlement offers. The latter option is often a service found with attorneys that offer bankruptcies. Debt Relief That Comes Short of Bankruptcy
Saturday, January 28th, 2012Credit Consolidation: Yes or No?
Saturday, January 7th, 2012
A lot of Americans are swimming in debt, and my partner and I are no exception. We overspent in the years preceding the economic meltdown, and now we have more bills than we can manage. We’re considering credit consolidation to get our individual payments down to one manageable payment. I think we’ve found a credit card company that will allow us to transfer all of our high-interest rate balances to that one card. Luckily, the new card’s interest rate is a lot lower than what we’re paying now. Hopefully, once we get everything transferred, we’ll be able to start getting back on our feet. The only thing we’re unsure of is whether we should close some or all of the old accounts. We don’t want to impact our credit rating, but leaving them all open seems to invite more debt. The last thing we want to do is double our debt by charging those cards up again!
Obama Housing Plan
Monday, November 28th, 2011The obama housing plan aims to help the current homeowners stay in control of their financial burden owed to the banks and mortgage companies. Specifically, those families that owe thousands more than their home value. There are an estimated millions of current families that are in this situation. It was not all of their doing however since the mortgage companies and banks gave away large quantities of loans to people that normally should not have received them. Although the homeowners appreciated the simpliocity of getting second mortgages and loans, they shortly understood that their financial situation could make them lose their homes. The Obama housing plan aims to help those people who can no longer afford their home mortgages or loans. The plan is to offer better assistance to these people by forgiving some of their loans, or in other words, have the banks write off some of the debt that is owed.
Shopping with No Credit Check Catalogue Stores
Saturday, November 19th, 2011Having bad credit is not much fun especially when it comes to buying the things you need for the home however, catalogues with no credit checks could offer you a solution. Many catalogue companies are offering credit lines to their customers who have credit ratings that are below average. This enables them to set up a credit account to purchase essential items such as food clothing and furniture in advance. The key advantage is these catalogue companies do not check your credit report or score to qualify you.
In the current economy you really do need a good credit record to qualify for credit cards and personal loans. Banks and lenders have over the last couple of years are becoming stricter when it comes to borrowing money. This is especially true with people who are unfortunate enough to have a poor credit rating due to debt problems. In this situation their opportunities to borrow are severely limited. It is for this reason that no credit check catalogues can offer them a life line.
Although this is great news for people who have poor credit ratings there are limitations to this way of shopping. You can only use the credit line with the catalogue store that you sign up to. It is not transferable. When you are researching for a no credit check catalogue make sure you choose one that has a large range of items for sale rather than one that has a limited amount of stock. When you do sign up for a no credit check catalogue the credit limit you will receive will be low in the beginning. However, as long as you can repay the monthly payments you can have this credit limit increased. Therefore, it does offer people a good opportunity to begin rebuilding their credit history.
When checking for a no credit catalogue compare the costs and charges involved in setting up an account with them. Some will charge set up or application fees therefore, it is important that you realise these before you sign up for an account. Because there is no credit check involved the application process is simple and quick.
